"A mind stretched to a new idea
never goes back to its original dimension."
Oliver Wendell Holmes
These modules were created from a teacher's
perspective with the goal of helping educators feel comfortable enough with
technology and Internet resources to make them an integral part of their curriculum
delivery. Technology empowers teachers as no other tools can. Technology frees
students from barriers of sexual, racial and cultural stereotyping and allows
them to communicate beyond the boundaries of our community to a real world
of people who read, write, share, build, communicate and contribute using
telecommunications.
I recommend you create a working file
in Microsoft Word, and as you work through these modules and find sites
you like, copy the URL's and paste them onto the working file and type a
brief description of what you found in the site that you liked. That file
should be saved to your F drive folder (or A drive diskette). You can also
copy/paste images or other types of media files that you run across that
you think might be useful. Later when you are doing lesson preparation and
want to return to the Web sites you found, you can just open the Word file
and quickly hyperlink from there back to the Web site.
